Situated beside the road NH183 connecting Kottayam and Thekkady, a paved driveway slopes downhill into Kofiland between the slopes of a pair of adjacent hillocks, their slopes draped with coffee bushes and pepper vines- to the bottom of a valley to reach Kofiland’s open to the air lobby. It is one of the best resort for families and honeymoon couples. A rivulet serenely courses through the crook of the valley here, flowing beneath the lobby to emerge and form a lake. Majestic Silver Oak trees higher up the hill slope look down at a cluster of cottages on stilts arrayed along one bank of the rivulet beside a stone paved path winding uphill, lined on both ends with pepper vines and young beech trees. In front of the lobby, across the driveway is an amphitheater with the lake as a backdrop. Walk past the lobby to the resort’s multi cuisine restaurant and further on to a large pool. Beside the cluster of cottages is a building that houses a library and indoor games area.

Numerous fishing spots are provided on the fringes of the lake stocked with endemic fish. The chef will most gladly cook a guest’s catch. On some days the passage of time is imperceptible, on other days, the seasons unfurl their magic and every overture is memorable. Come, smell the coffee and let your senses take over.
